Since starting this project, several people have approached me with questions. “Why are you doing this?” they say. “Do you really like ‘Last Christmas’ that much?”

Well, questions like these leave me simply incensed. Why am I systematically providing the world with every available version of “Last Christmas”? I don’t think I even need to justify that with a response. Here are today’s versions:

Look out world, there is a new entry in the arena of awesome pop music. We present to you triple threat actress/ model/ singer Ashley Tisdale, from “High School Musical.” Based on the awesomeness of her take on “Last Christmas,” she’s likely got a long top-40s hit career ahead of her. Her album, “Headstrong,” will be released in Feb. 2007.

Travis were late-90s whine-rock kings from Scotland with hits like “Why Does it Always Rain on Me?” and “Turn.” So I imagine playing a song of holiday heartbreak was no major stretch for them. About 2:35 in, he goofs on the lyrics and it rules.
