So we’re past the 200 mark. That should count for something, right? Looking back to when we crossed the 100 track mark, we were right around 7 hours of music. Now, at 200 tracks, we’re at about 14 hours. What does it all mean??
Here’s something nice: Whitney from USA Today’s Pop Candy featured us again this year! And she even supported our long-time dream about a Shatner/Aguilera “Last Christmas” duet! (I know that sounds silly on paper, but seriously can you imagine how awesome that pairing would be?)
And just a quick question for ya’s — Is everyone downloading ok? I mean, we know A LOT of you are, but is this whole download service thing weird? If you’re having trouble, or have any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to email us!
OK on to business…
Denmark’s Raunchy has given the world what may be the closest thing to a metal cover of “Last Christmas” ever. It’s almost metal, but just not quite there. Maybe it’s best to describe it using the title of their third album, Death Pop Romance. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? Ordinarily, Raunchy is pretty metal, so maybe they backed off a little to let their Christmas spirit shine through.
Anyway, this version is just tame enough for you rabid “Last Christmas” collectors who are looking for the finishing touch on that X-mas mix for mom.
This track comes as a bonus song on their album Velvet Noise found on amazon and itunes.

Pete here has one hell of a bio over on his myspace. I mean, it starts with:
“Born in South London 12th December 1960 Peter Hunnigale was to develop into one of Britain’s most formidable Reggae artist of our time”
And then it runs maybe twenty paragraphs more after that. So I’m not sure my standard-issue 150 word description can do his career justice.
If you don’t already own it, you can find this track on A Reggae Christmas on itunes.

Alexia drops in a nice “Neverending Story” vocal around 2:15 in for all you children of the ’80s. Beyond that, she gives us a pretty orthodox dance version.

I was excited last year when we posted about Mutsuhiro’s music box version. I really didn’t expect there to be a second music box version. If I were to guess, I’d say Ed’s cover was produced with the “Music Box” setting on his computer’s MIDI card (PC#11), while Mutsuhiro actually did the hole-punchy-paper deal to create his. This is all speculation of course.
This is found on Music Box Christmas on itunes with other holiday favs.

Remember the video with the ladies in Santa outfits we posted last year? Yes, that’s right, the cute ladies. Yes that one. Well here’s the mp3 of that performance. Things are really coming together!
Djumbo – Last Christmas (live)
This great great acoustic version is by the amazing Japanese guitarist Kotaro Oshio. This appears to be a grab from his Dramatic Live DVD which you find here, and plenty of his music on amazon.com. A snowflake for you!

This trilogy of “Last Christmas” is brought to us by the letter M. Barcelona’s infamous MM Crew delivers a set of pretty varied dance-ish electronica versions. And each with an awesome parenthetical notation.
MM Crew – Last Christmas (Smind Babbo Rave Version)
MM Crew – Last Christmas (DJ Laurenz In Trance Extended Version)
MM Crew – Last Christmas (DJ Rayne Acua Keta Version)
Now be honest — have you listened to 212 different versions of “Last Christmas” without taking a moment to learn how to play it on the piano? Well let’s fix that straight away.
