Hey nerds! You may recognize Billie Piper from her stint on Doctor Who, but she started out doing pop music. This single is from 1999 or 2000, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect from an actress/pop singer: Pop.
Billie Piper – Last Christmas
We have a mash-up! Finally, right? This is one of two “Last Christmas” mash-ups we’ve found (check in tomorrow for number two), this one being Wham! meets Jay-Z. DJ Twombly’s site doesn’t mention this track, but then again, it doesn’t mention much of anything right now.

Our friend Elizabeth has an interesting thought on All About Eve’s cover: “This version feels thin and ethereal. Eve’s heart sounds ripped from her chest. I imagine a sad Emo boy cheating on her with an even thinner blond girl who cuts herself. Is that wrong? Why would he hurt Eve? Is her eating disorder not devastating enough?” Darn that guy! I also like what one amazon.com reviewer had to say, “Worth the price of admission just for the revelation that behind Wham’s cheesy ‘Last Christmas’ there was, in fact, a brilliant pop song struggling to escape.”

This is the first track from their album Iceland which you can find on amazon.com.

Hey kids, it’s time to get your glow sticks out for DJ Farm’s version. Seriously. Get out your glow sticks.
DJ Farm & Andrew D – Last Christmas
We have no info on this next one, but it’s a very nice piano-based instrumental version. Get in touch if you know anything about this version.

I really like the intro on Chikuzen Sato’s version. It tricks you into thinking maybe you selected the wrong track to play. Chikuzen’s version is a little funky, a little rock n’ roll, a little poppy. The trifecta! While we couldn’t find an artist site for him, his CD The Hits-Cornerstones 3 is available on amazon.com
