So in our bandwidth post, Tom asked about an actress in the original Last Christmas video, and during our search, we found out the Bliss version of the video we featured was shot in the same location! So it’s quite nearly as close to an exact replica as we’ve seen, right down to the hairdos. Here’s a link to the story.
The answer to the original question lay in the painfully obvious source, Wikipedia, with an equally obvious answer: The video also featured the duo’s erstwhile backing singers Pepsi and Shirlie and Spandau Ballet bassist Martin Kemp, the boyfriend and future husband of Shirlie Holliman.
And for another great “Last Christmas” video, Jason sent us his own stop motion video, including his own audio! Lots of hardwork, blood, sweat, tears, eggnog and obviously love, went into this die hard production. Kudos Jason! Click the image below to check it out!
So that’s that. And for this post, we’re offering versions featuring the number 4. Neat huh? Starting with 4-Ever, a version we’re ashamed to know nothing about. It’s from somewhere, we know that much. Our westernized ears can’t place the language this is sung in, but we can tell you musically, it’s pretty close to GM’s original vision.
4-Ever – Last Christmas
We know slightly more about about VD4 fortunately. He’s a German comedian known for his terrible singing and mash-ups, and mostly notably his Chocolate Rain UMBREmix. The best part is that you can download all his music free on last.fm, especially his White Rum on Christmas EP that features Last Christmas, and among other hits, Silent Night, performed with David Hasselhoff (maybe not really)!
VD4 – Last Christmas
7th Heaven obviously doesn’t have 4 in the name, but the album this comes from is the Eurobeat 4 Christmas compilation, which contains the more dancey version of this song we posted previously. This is the “unplugged” version.
