BTH extended version!

Santa LanternAsk and ye shall receive! We have an early (or late, depending on how you evaluate the situation) Christmas gift for you, dear readers. “Last Christmas” enthusiast Ben sent us the missing BTH version from last year. We have to say we’re proud, and frankly a little weirded out, that someone else is archiving the list as we go along. Ben, we thank you and step off our biz. Just kidding, we’d‘ve be in a hot mess without your contribution.

BTHLast Christmas

Also, please remember, aside from this entry, there are NO individual mp3s within each past article. But not to fret if, for some reason, you have never been here before. Firstly, thanks for coming by! Secondly, every song we’ve posted previously can be found in the collected sets found on the right side of the site, under their respective years’ heading. A quick site search will point you to appropriate set.

Once we start the new collection, we’ll post selections individually, as always.

This year’s collection is unexpectedly shaping up nicely, but please keep sending in suggestions or songs to keep this going. If your band has recorded “Last Christmas” let us know! Even better, if you haven’t recorded a version, but you always wanted to be a part of something special and meaningful, this is clearly your chance! Don’t forget we’re launching our podcast this year, and we’ll be sending out some of the best submissions we receive along with other titillating versions we’ve received over the years.

Update!

Welcome back!Good day to you, dear readers!

I’m sure I don’t need to say this, as it’s plainly obvious, we’ve done some dusting up and redesigning. We hope you’ll find this a bit easier on the eyes, while we’re destroying your ears. Shortly we will be updating the site with all-new for 2008 header image by our pal Brandon who created the original!

And…terrible news…as you can imagine, keeping track of so many version of the same lovable song can be difficult. We highly doubt any of you have listened to every version we’ve posted like we’ve had to. But if you have, let us know, we’ll send you some kind of baked treat. Anyways, it appears as though we need to bring down the count 1 track from last years until we can sort this mess out. We appear to be missing last year’s BTH cover from our final post (presumably different from either version we posted in 2006). It has gone the way of the pager and no longer seems to exist in our library. The problem is that we can’t even verify that we posted it correctly last year, so we thought it prudent to reduce the count until this is sorted out. Of course if you have information or the original, please email us forthwith!

Now on to the good news. This year’s redesign has brought about with it the Featured Version podcast! Here we will send you many many Last-Christmas.com approved tracks which have been sent to us by the loving masses, or we have otherwise gained approval for posting. This is a great way to catch up on past gems as we have removed all the individual song links from years past. However, you will still find the larger compiled collections available right below this new podcast.

Finally, if you’re interested in fueling the madness this year, we’re allowing minimal sponsorship. We hope to cover costs for web needs and psychiatry bills related to listening to 300+ versions of the same song over a three year period. No one said this was easy.
