The Dreamer and The Sleeper (aka Nick and Easton, though we aren’t sure which is which) released a fantastic holiday ep last year which includes, among other gems, a great cover of “Last Christmas.” Their fun acoustic take falls somewhere between Wham!‘s original and the Jimmy Eat World cover with a confidence many of the other artists lack in their versions. It’s quickly become one of my favorites, and out of 328 versions, that says a lot. We’re also podcasting this version, which if you haven’t subscribed to yet, what the heck are you waiting for?!

Next up we have two mash ups! God I love a good mash up. When done properly, it’s like when you’d mix up the fountain sodas up the street at 7-11 and discover a secret drink only you and your friends knew about. When done wrong, it’s like, well a bad fountain drink concoction you’d spit up and scrunch your face at. Luckily, both of these fall into the former classification. The first from an unknown mixer joins our namesake with everyones favorite early 2000s dance jam, Lady from Modjo, and the second sounds like it mushes up “Clocks” from fan fav and Last Christmas alumnus Coldplay with extra guitar solos.
